The After Party

Congratulations to the winners of the 2008 Tank Awards! And remember, runners-up; you got nominated, and that is an honor in itself.

Now, to judge the actual presentation: I loved the transforming 3-D tank, and would like to see that return next year, with additional clips for Musician (some form of music player) and User of the Year (a Tankman). I would also like to see awards presented by well-known characters, with Tom or whichever staff member has the honors serving as host in between.

Technical aspects: the low resolution I can understand, since NG has limited server space. Perhaps next year's video should have a separate video host, or stream through a media player? Audio was inconsistent, and it was disappointingly obvious that the video was clipped. I was glad to see a video, but I'd like next year to have just a tad more effort. A proper studio would have helped; I have access to one, but it's in Bremerton, Washington, so unless you guys save up for airfare I can't help you.

One last thing: I almost didn't notice the link to the video on the front page. It should be BIG--like, an entire row in and of itself.

Something familiar...

I enjoyed this little parody. It was funny, the style fit the subject, and it has potential as a series.

Two of the characters' voices sounded awfully familiar...Legend and Dom, if I'm not mistaken?

Congratulations to Euphoric on their Tankie nomination! There's plenty of competition, and all well qualified. But as I see it, there's a 99% certainty that this year's winner for "Movie of the Year" is Fallen Angel, hands down. You put an incredible amount of work into this, and it deserves to win. BREAK A LEG!

This collab was everything I expected and better. Sorry I didn't get to contribute, but you guys definitely pulled it off. I wholly expect this to place in the Winter Flash-Off.

What's missing

-Sound effects. Look around the Web for free sounds.
-Preloader, obtained here: http://www.newgrounds.com/downloads/p reloaders/
-A stop function. Just add "stop();" (without quotes) to Actions in the last frame, and be sure to put a "The End" in there.
-It's kind of small.

Not a bad start--in fact, it was entertaining--but it does need work.

I also tried with a preloader and a stop thingy. But since it's really short, it felt weird with a preloader so... A new one is already in the making, which WILL include:
SFX, PRELOADERS!!!, REPLAY BUTTON!!!, and most important, it will be much longer :D

It was well-drawn, well-animated, and it was kind of funny. (And I didn't know dA had its own preloader. :P ) Good start; I think you have what it takes to be popular here.

Not bad...

But just for the record, "The Day the Earth Stood Still" is not a new movie. It's a remake of a 1950's sci-fi classic. Watch that one; it's still good.

Good humor

"Thinking can be fun once you get the hang of it." I think this is my new slogan.

Plotline: Good. Not a whole lot more you could have done with it. If you haven't done this already, storyboarding helps a lot with longer stories.
Art/Animation: Average. Look up some tutorials on character building; it'll help a lot.
Sound: is there. A little background noise from the TV channels would have added a good amount to this.

Overall, not bad for a first submission. Keep at it.
