Decent

Here's my unnecessarily tough review:

Art: beginner-level, but not bad.
Animation: minimal, but not to the point of boredom.
Sound: there was at least music.
Storyline: it was okay. For the future, storyboards make longer plots easier to manage.

Overall, okay for a beginner. I think you'll improve as you move forward and gain experience. Keep working on it!

manjunath responds:

Thank you so much for your valuable time to critic this movie and give me some useful pointers. God bless you kind sir :-)

Nice gesture

But...I have to be a jerk now and review it.

Art: not horrible, but could be improved quite a bit.
Animation: minimal. Again, work on it.
Sound: none. Believe me, this adds a lot to any movie.
Organization: it was okay.
The cursor: Kind of annoying, actually, even though it fit the theme.

Say hi to your mom for us, and keep working on your animation skills.

TheUndeadNinja responds:

I will work on my animation, i want to be really good one day.

Work on it

Your drawings of the Enterprise weren't bad, but they could use some work. As I-Rule said, work on tweening; it'll make life easier. Plus you may want to study the movements in the original version more closely; the days of motion control in the 1960's actually aren't too different from tweening now.

A decent likeness, but overall it leaves room for improvement.

Trekkie2063 responds:

True. I admit, this isn't great, but given I had a deadline of when the assignment was due, I don't think it's half bad. And like I say, I wanted to go back and improve stuff, but I forgot a great deal of flash lol

Nice

So what happened to Chapter 1?

Good job, anyway; art was good, animation was good, and sound was well done. And frankly Zoe creeps me out more than Dirge does. (It's the eyes.)

I'm gonna go watch the rest of the series now...no, seriously, forgive me if I sound like a total noob, but where is Chapter 1?

Question answered

My first encounter with I.V. was Mastermind: WC. I knew she had to come from somewhere... In any case, not too bad. I wouldn't mind seeing you develop this further, perhaps with a little cleanup in the drawing and more backstory.

I also demand a sequel!

This was a great job for a senior project. (Sure beats the crap out of mine.) Animations was good, chracters were great, and the story (what there was of it) was funny. I'd like to see more of Stan and Eyeballus, and perhaps with better audio if possible.

Badger Badger all over again

Animation was minimal, but still grabbed your attention; effects definitely added a lot to the feel of the movie. The song itself was hilarious, and the video fit with it perfectly. Had a similar mental effect to "Badger, Badger." Very well done; I give it a 10 and a 5.

(And now I have to watch it again, damn you! :P)

Mediocre

Some of it was good, some of it not so good, ad is usually the case with a collab. Credits need work; at least give Daft Punk some recognition for being the original score behind that crappy song. Other than that, nothing really new.

Not bad

Wouldn't mind participating in the sequel. A few qualms, though:

1) Video is too small.
2) Too short overall.
3) Would have liked a greater variety of NG talent.

Well done for a collab, though. Hope to catch the next one before it runs out of slots.

P.S.: Terkoiz...where did those barrels come from, exactly?

The After Party

Congratulations to the winners of the 2008 Tank Awards! And remember, runners-up; you got nominated, and that is an honor in itself.

Now, to judge the actual presentation: I loved the transforming 3-D tank, and would like to see that return next year, with additional clips for Musician (some form of music player) and User of the Year (a Tankman). I would also like to see awards presented by well-known characters, with Tom or whichever staff member has the honors serving as host in between.

Technical aspects: the low resolution I can understand, since NG has limited server space. Perhaps next year's video should have a separate video host, or stream through a media player? Audio was inconsistent, and it was disappointingly obvious that the video was clipped. I was glad to see a video, but I'd like next year to have just a tad more effort. A proper studio would have helped; I have access to one, but it's in Bremerton, Washington, so unless you guys save up for airfare I can't help you.

One last thing: I almost didn't notice the link to the video on the front page. It should be BIG--like, an entire row in and of itself.

Congrats again to the winners, and don't let the paparazzi get you! (Snicker.)
