It's a start
Every well-meant suggestion below me, plus improve on the music and sound effects. Other than that, not bad.
A ways to go
Barring the lack of levels, there was no sound, and the controls were a little daft, especially considering the character always stops before a jump. Work on it some more.
Pretty good, except...
The music didn't fit the game. At all. Try finding something with more of a horror-genre feel to it.
Needs more
Frankly, MS Paint has more capability than this. Add a paint bucket, an eraser, and maybe learn to make RGB sliders, and this could be a bit better.
Not bad, but not good
The instructions page didn't work, gameplay was slow and not difficult enough, and you left your cursor graphic in the play field, which only added to the unattractiveness. There's definite room for improvement.
Felt more like driver's ed
Work a little more on sprite control. It was too difficult to steer the car. Plus having to turn around at the beginning of each new level was kind of annoying.
What was the goal?
So I'm a little green oval hopping around on a platformer, and no matter where I go, eventually I die. Not fun. A platformer has to have an objective.
PS, that little stop button gag wasn't fun either.
It rocks!
It was fun, exciting, challenging - everything I could want in a game. (And that was just boot camp.) I played around with Advance Wars once before, but never got into it; now I can appreciate it for the strategic extravaganza it is.
Great job; front-page material!
Has glitches
The "tutorial session" moved along without me doing anything, and didn't seem to carry specific instructions. A good game has control explanations IN the game. I don't entirely understand why you used the click-to-move method; I suppose that would be clearer in a full game.
It's an okay start; keep working on it.
