Good start, but needs improvement

Fix the controls to work for right-handers. Try these keys:

A ( = 65 in ActionScript)
D ( = 68)
W ( = 87)

It might add more of a challenge to the game if you make the targets aggressive; i.e., they shoot back and you have to dogde. (S = 83, if you want to add a duck function.) A more visible font in the interface would be preferable as well.

Good start

The game wasn't at all entertaining. However, you did build a dressup the RIGHT way, as opposed to the click-and-drag crap we usually get here, and for that I will give you credit. Take the basic structure of this, and up the ante.

Loved it

Very original, very amusing, very frustrating. My only suggestion: work on your English.

That's true, ;)
my english is a little poor actualy, but i'm going to make it better. ^^
Thanx

Great game

The theme aside, this was a good concept. The art was well done, although the sounds could have been smoother, and I really enjoyed playing.

As for the theme: loved it! An excellent addition to the Politics collection!

And I was actually happy to lose this one. Sing with me, everybody!

"HE HAD IT COMIN' / HE HAD IT COMIN'
HE HAD IT COMIN' ALL ALONG
I DIDN'T DO IT / BUT IF I'D DONE IT
HOW COULD YOU TELL ME THAT I WAS WRONG?!"

(Thank you, thank you very much.)

It was okay

I was entertained, which is always important. I'd recommend working on graphics a bit; gradients don't get you everywhere. Level 5 needs to be fixed; I shot everything that came in, then it was a very long nothing happening. A good start, though; keep working on it.

Nice premise

But the Scripting needs serious work. I clicked "instructions" and got level 0, made it through level 1 and started over; and for that matter, it wasn't clear I was supposed to click and drag the ball. I'd suggest actually making the ball into a cursor object to improve the game. But it does have potential; it just needs finessing.

Aaron0710 responds:

Right, I've fixed it up now... and checked it from the site. The instructions work, as does the shiny new plot button.

Useless

It's basically a non-interactive slideshow. And not very educational; I'd rather just keep the Tripod name and avoid the hassle. No more of these, please.

Too basic

Fair enough for a shooter, but there was really no skill involved. You weren't fighting a timer, nor moving targets, nor anyone trying to shoot you before you shot them. And buying ammo (and upgrades?) should really be saved for the end of a level, not while you're shooting. Graphics improvement would be a nice bonus. Work on it some more, and perhaps ask a few friends to test it for you and get their input before submitting it here.

iamrunegecko responds:

i will be adding moving targets, then re-submitting...

It's a start

-Instructions: the spacebar skips frames. use "next" and "previous" buttons.
-Gameplay: The background is a classic mistake. I know you were going for the feel of a real city, but it was impossible to see anything--including Godzilla. Both lizard and enemies moved too fast to have any real control. Half the screen was occupied by a status bar, also distracting from the lower half; this needs to be MUCH smaller. Finally, you need sound effects to make the game more immersive.

Kudos for trying, but you have a long way to go. Do some fine-tuning, maybe get your friends to test it for you, and then resubmit.
