It has been AGES since I've heard anything hip-hop that didn't make me want to gouge out my ears. And normally dubstep has the same effect. So the fact that you so successfully fused the two together that I not only enjoyed it, but actually downloaded it, is pretty damn impressive. Well done.

GrantBowtie responds:

Ya I know a few people who feel that way about hip-hop. Glad you like it man.

You were doing well until you started singing. The lyrics have no sense of rhythm or syllable balance and are trying too hard to fit inside the measures of the music, and ultimately the entire song suffered as a result. The music was done right, but the singing killed it.

Nevrosia666 responds:

Lol I'm pretty sure everyone will agree with you.

As someone who normally hates dubstep for being tone-deaf and unoriginal, I have to say this ws quite original and for the most part carried a proper melody. The bass at the beginning was hard to listen to with headphones - too heavy on the right side - but other than that the song was very well balanced. This is good work; keep it up.

CowardlyLion responds:

Thank you very much! Not all dubstep is that way, my friend, gotta broaden your horizons. The sub bass itself was too heavy on the right side? That's odd, I never changed the stereo orientation of the sub bass. It could be the drum that's doing that. I had put a bandpass filter on it for the intro and for some reason it throws it over to the right side completely. I'll work on that.

For what it is, it's not bad. It's just not really my thing.

But that's not why I knocked the score. My criticism is with the vocals. They're too rigid and inflexible, trying too hard to match the tempo of the music, and as a result the words feel drawn out in some spots and compressed in others. It's a mistake that I've heard a lot from songs in the last few years, and it's part of what made the 2000's so musically unimpressive. Lyrics should flow freely, keeping time with the music but not beholden to its every movement.

AEPfx responds:

I honestly have to idea what I am doing when It comes to recording and compression stuff. As the sing style, personally, I like the way it turned out but I understand how someone wouldn't.

This is fine as a piano solo, but also has a lot of potential as an orchestral piece - very clear roles for brass, strings, etc. that don't interfere with each other. Well written, great composition; flowed very nicely from one part to the next. Downloading this, but I'd really like to hear it played by an orchestra or a classical band.

NordicHazard responds:

i thought about it before uploading it. Logic pro 9 doesn't actually have nice orchestral, the sound is quite digital... nothing in compare to programms like east west, dammit! >.<
anyway thanks a lot!

Flawless

I felt like I was listening to a genuine 1980's chart-topper. This is a wonderful piece and a new addition to my favorites list.

rayphonic responds:

Thanks!

Not bad

Kind of took me back to the nineties; it carries the vibe of that decade. Could use some extension, but it's not bad on its own; it's at least better than some of what gets on the radio these days.

TheMadWasp responds:

LOL Thanks man, I appreciate it, the song was actually based on an old song from one of the very old eJay's (eJay Special Edition) and yeah, it needs to be extended.

I shall make a "Full Version" of this song.

-Madjasper1 (P.S Thanks again)

Love it, love it, love it

In an age where musicians are paid millions of dollars to lack talent, it's nice to see there's still people who can make a sound to kick everyone's ass down to the floor. This is classic, classy blues, perfectly executed, with a tasteful overtone of the modern blended smoothly into the traditional. Fived, favorited, and downloaded.

Lundsfryd responds:

Thanks a bunch. Im glad you like it :) We might record two more tracks early next year. So drop by in a few months :P

Awesome

Has a very industrial feel, without being industrial per se. Would make great epic battle music. I would have left out the violin at the end though, and that first "skip" set I could have lived without. Still, great job; 9 stars and a new favorite.

Gravey responds:

It's actually a viola solo at the end, and it would be my favorite part. So I'm definitely not getting rid of it. ;-)

Thanks for the review.

Good job

Not the greatest techno song I've ever heard, but it serves its purpose. It's a great remix of what is effectively a cult classic; and if anyone here can do a better job, may an energy pellet smack me in the head.

fishfood2021 responds:

LOL you're awesome :). Thanks for your time.
