So you made a music player

It's nothing original by any stretch; I could probably do something similar by copy-pasting code off the Internet. I'll give you credit for making the effort, but there needs to be more than this - visuals, interactivity, something to make this stand out.

Makx responds:

it's just a stand alone player... do you sit there watching the visuals on media player, itunes, realplayer, etc? cuz if you do, that's kinda sad...

the code is very simple, i'll give it to you if you want, it's
play();
stop();
{on (release); goToAndPlay("song name");}

... there you go, you can make your own now!

Enjoyed it

A great addition to the Batallion games. The Warmachine was a tad difficult to figure out at first, but I got the hang of it. My only real complaint is the new artwork for characters seems to be a step backward from "Nemesis." But overall, still a great game. 8 and 4 from me.

Yeah, it's the loyalty factor

"Discipline!! Discipline!! Discipline!! DISCIPLINE!!!" You can do that the entire game, and not get anywhere with any of them. Other than that, I really enjoyed this. 3 and 7 from me.

What...the...Fulp?

The art and style made this look really appealing...and then you had to throw in the "dynamic camera." I lost a life before I even started, and couldn't keep my bearings well enough to jump to the first platform. Hard games I don't mind, but this was nigh impossible. Dynamic camera may be a cool feature for some things, but if it makes a game unplayable, it's not worth it.

What the hell?

The beams fell through solid floors. That alone makes this game unlikable. Furthermore, the tutorial was poor, lacking an explanation of exactly how to manipulate placed objects. I did not enjoy this game, and I would hope you go to the trouble of fixing its problems to make it decently playable.

Enjoyable

So tell me: why can't I hit a target through a wall? A good sniper should have the resources to do that. Plus I think the scope should actually zoom in on the level, not just appear. Play around with the idea.

Seriously, though, good game. Provided a definite challenge, the storyline was well constructed, and the graphics were decent for the game type. Overall, I liked it.

Not bad

I understand why the pieces had to be click-and-drag, but it might be nice if they had some sort of anchor points where they could attach to each other. Also, I didn't see any silencers; perhaps I missed something?

A good job overall, though. I suspect there will be a V4?

desertthunder responds:

Yeah, there were a couple of silencers

Stop right here

Before you take your career in dress-up games any further, I must make this suggestion: DON'T do it this way! Before long, your items will clutter the screen so much that you won't be able to see anything else. Furthermore, click-and-drag items are annoying to try and place in more detailed dressups.

For the future, dressup games should take full advantage of the capabilities of the movie clip. Instead of click-and-drag items, put them in a fixed location and make them scroll-through style. Your items will always be cleanly placed and much better organized.

Not bad...for a beginning

-Your game is challenging, but only because the sudden switch of levels gives you no time to prepare. Build future games around the concept of learning your way around the enemy.
-You left NO instructions in the game, or even in the author comments, making even level 1 less than appealing.
-The blue guy was almost impossible to discern from the black guys; choose a more vibrant color next time, such as red. For that matter, you may want to learn a bit about using animated movie clips to make the characters themselves more interesting.
-A larger, moving game map might help you make the game more interesting. Try adding some obstacles, such as walls or manholes, to add to the challenge.

A good start, but it needs a LOT of work, especially in the art department. Keep working on it.

talls responds:

V-Cam, obstructons, anamatshons, and graphics. Got it, I'll work on it.

Not too bad

I wouldn't exactly qualify it as a "game," but as far as a programming project goes it wasn't all bad. At least the artwork was halfway decent, and you made good use of movie clips. Try making a few movies, perhaps with a similar theme, and we'll see how you do.
